A LASIK exam is a crucial first step in determining your suitability for LASIK surgery. It is designed to evaluate your eyes and decide whether or not you are a good candidate for LASIK surgery. The exam involves 14diagnostic tests that assess your vision and the health of your eyes. It also gives you an opportunity to ask questions and discuss any concerns you might have about the procedure with Dr. Manger.
SameDay LASIK is an exclusive option provided by Saddleback Eye Center for those who qualify for LASIK surgery during their exam and wish to have the procedure on the same day. This is ideal for those who want to start enjoying better vision immediately without needing multiple visits.

The vast majority of health insurance plans consider LASIK to be cosmetic or elective and do not typically cover LASIK surgery. Some plans may offer a discount for members interested in the procedure. We can provide an itemized superbill that patients may submit to their insurance company for any possible reimbursement, but we do not bill directly through insurance.Check out other forms of payment and financing options here.

Our comprehensive 14-test LASIK exam typically takes around 2½ hours. This duration allows us to conduct an in-depth examination of your eyes and vision, ensuring the most accurate results and recommendations.

However, some tests may require dilation of the pupils, which can cause temporary light sensitivity and blurred vision. If dilation is required, you are advised to arrange for someone to drive you home after the exam.
